TOOGOOD - Carafe Dough - Black - Enamelled sandstone - Designer Faye Toogood; TOOGOOD Carafe Black Ceramic. Dimensions:Ø 15 x H 19.8 cm - Width with handle: W 20 cm. A leader in contemporary British design, Faye Toogood embodies a certain revival of British style. The avant-garde creator is a figure of design and art: her practice encompasses interior architecture, furniture design, plastic arts and fashion. Her work can be found in the collections of many prestigious museums around the world. Magnet loves to experiment with materials in all their forms. All her creations are handmade by small-scale producers and traditional craftsmen, respecting the natural state and irregularity of the chosen material. Dough, her first tableware collection, combines the luxury of traditional ceramic craftsmanship with the simplicity of pure forms. Each piece comes from a prototype shaped by hand in the Toogood workshop in London. These Sandstone pieces are incredibly refined, but also quite primitive. Dough is inspired by the kneading movements of pastry and pottery: the soft, rounded shapes are reminiscent of rising dough. Cups and pitchers feature deliberately oversized handles, while plates and the Vase feature an inflated rim. Faye has chosen to focus on six rough-textured Sandstone models in neutral Cream and Coal.
