Eugenia is a set of glasses, Carafe and Decanter in Crystalline glass, designed by Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa, one of the greatest names in contemporary design. This collection is designed to perform all the functions of a contemporary meal. The glasses are uniquely designed to optimize wine tasting. Its name is a tribute to Alberto Alessi's winery, ''La signora Eugenia'', whose wine is contained in an original conical bottle, inspired by a drawing by Leonardo da Vinci. Inspired by the emblematic shape of this bottle, Naoto Fukasawa has created a service with a pure, essential design, in which an obtuse-angled line, ''Donkaku'' in Japanese, becomes the official feature of the entire service. A small curve at the mouth of each element becomes the distinctive sign of the collection. Naoto Fukasawa: ''The Eugenia series was conceived after visiting Alberto Alessi several times, drinking his wine and enjoying life. One day, I had the idea of designing glasses for tasting his wine. The design is simply a trapezoid, a conical shape, with the addition of a strong line near the edge of the lips. When the lip touches the glass, you feel the obtuse angle, which is a rather simple but quite unique detail. It's a wine glass that's quite formal yet very unique and exceptional.''
