About this product

Zanotta - Standing coat rack Sciangai - Multicoloured - Lacquered solid beech - Designer Studio De Pas - D'Urbino - Lomazzi; Zanotta Standing coat rack Multicoloured Wood. Dimensions:Ø 65 x H 145 cm - Closed: Ø 11 x H 160 cm. Sciangai - the iconic folding Coat stand designed by De Pas, D'Urbino and Lomazzi in 1973, winner of the Compasso d'Oro in 1979 - celebrates its 50th anniversary. Zanotta is celebrating this landmark anniversary with Paolo Lomazzi by creating a special numbered edition: Sciangai 50, an explosion of bright, cheerful colors. A cult design object, the Sciangai Coat stand can be found in the permanent collections of the world's greatest museums, and has won several international awards. Sciangai 50 is a faithful replica of the original sketch found in the workshop of De Pas, D'Urbino and Lomazzi by Fabio Calvi and Paolo Brambilla, Zanotta's new artistic directors, a brightly colored pencil drawing in which each stem has a different hue. An empathetic, communicative object that personalizes its surroundings with a touch of authentic, playful anti-conformism as its eight colorful branches open up. At once a Coat stand and an abstract sculpture, Sciangai graces the space with its singular, architectural presence. The interlocking Chopsticks create an impression of movement and dynamism. When folded, it is discreetly tucked away in a corner. Themultiple Chopsticks are ideal for clothes, bags, towels and accessories. Paolo Lomazzi: ''Objects must connect with the user and be easy to use. Everyday objects, household objects and objects to which we are attached. The inspiration for Sciangai was the Chinese Toy of Mikado, where wooden sticks are held in the hand and then placed on a table.''
